Artist Shirley Woodson described how she works: “I concentrate to blues, I concentrate to jazz.”

The showcase, composed of art work that Woodson revamped 3 many years, is named “Defend of the Nile Reflections,” which she says highlights the river’s significance to civilization.

Describing her 1984 paintings “Defend of the Nile No. 2,” Woodson stated, “I sought after to position those figures in an atmosphere of therapeutic, of recovery, of enjoyment — the entire issues that water represents.”

The couple had two sons. Woodson, who studied artwork at Wayne State College, and the College of the Artwork Institute of Chicago, spent 26 years instructing artwork to each highschool and faculty scholars.
